The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, located in Los Angeles, is the largest museum in the United States devoted to the arts, sciences, and artists of moviemaking.
The Challenge
In 2025, the Academy Museum opened its largest-ever exhibition dedicated to a single film: Jaws. It explores the film’s production as well as its far-reaching impact 50 years after it premiered. It includes original objects, behind-the-scenes revelations, and interactive moments. The museum, opened in 2021, wanted to make a big splash for this first of its kind exhibit. They partnered with creative agency Tronvig and DCW Media to create a paid social media campaign to:
- Raise awareness for the museum and its Jaws exhibition
- Drive traffic to the Academy Museum website
- Generate online ticket sales
The Approach
- Deploy high-quality creative assets that included iconic Jaws imagery and video on Meta and YouTube, with image and carousel ads on Facebook and Instagram, and In-Feed and In-Stream ads on YouTube
- Geotargeting the Los Angeles DMA with emphasis on key zip codes
- Online ticket sales were tracked with attribution pixels on the museums website
